A simple, but effective, annoyance.

eres a funny one for you scripters out there, we had a chat in work a few weeks ago about just how effective scripting is and whether it is actually useful.
taking massive offense to this, i ofcourse decided to show said moaner just how effective batch files are!
Heres an evil one for you:
:starting
start cmd
goto starting
Thats it! watching moaners pc crease and die when i executed this in his session using psexec was my entertainment for the week.
And before you start emailing me, dont ask how i got it into his session. psexec.exe /?
Sys Admin Appreciation Day:

http://www.sysadminday.com/whatsysadmin.html
What is a Sysadmin:
“When you think of a sysadmin, think of the people who run the servers that help you clean it off, the people who run your backups to make sure your data is safe, the people who bring you the network, the people who monitor it for security — and yes, the person who cleans the virus off your computer and replaces your monitor.”
Happy sysadmin day too all my fellow nerds

On a roll…
Well what with my recent success in exams, I decided its about time i sat my CCNA. I was working with Cisco routers and switches for about two years in the last place and it really would be a waste of knowledge not to sit this exam before I forget it all.
Man I didn’t realise how much i had forgotten until i managed to get my hands on a copy of packet tracer! Packet tracer is like a work bench where you can setup virtual servers, clients, printers switches routers… even wireless routers and test connectivity between the devices. The icing on the cake no less, is that you have an individual IOS and and terminal session on each device mimicking near exactly the actual routers connectivity.
On a side note, who ever invented sub-netting, bit pinching and network address shortening… I’d kick you in the face for making me do maths.
While I’m at it!
I figured now that I’m sitting exams is as good a time as any to start on other qualifications, I’ve been meaning over the last few years to get the qualifications that are relevant to what I’m doing at the moment.
I Started with today and sat my first Citrix exam. I’m delighted to say i passed with flying colours, 96%
So now I’m a CCA for XenApp
Back to the drawing board:
Well, seeing as microsoft is putting an end to the upgrade path to server 2003 from 2000 in MCSA i figured it was time for me to sit down and hit the ole books.
I trawled around for a while and found the cbt nuggets for the exam and i must say even after 5 years supporting server 2003 even i learned something from this guy!
Linky to software is here: http://www.cbtnuggets.com/webapp/product?id=171
cannot recommend the software high enough
