ThinKiosk is available as an MSI or in stand alone exe format. The ThinKiosk MSI has been designed to be as unintrusive as possible. The MSI will simply register thinkiosk as an application and create the neccessary files. The MSI will not replace the shell.
To install ThinKiosk, head over to the download page, install the msi or drop the exe on the local (or what the hell, remote) file system then configure your shell redirection. It really is that easy. Once you have it installed, head over to the configuration page.
To install ThinKiosk via group policy, below are some simple steps on how to achieve this:
Deployment via group policy.
Right click Software installation > new > package.
When prompted, browse to the network location of ThinKiosk, select it and choose open:
Choose assigned and ok:
Assuming all has gone to plan, you should now see the thinkiosk package in the policy as below:
That’s it! the pc’s should pick-up this policy in next restart, head over to the getting started pages to configure the user settings and shell replacement.
